Retrieval Fees and Costs

All individuals and organizations who request medical records will be responsible for the costs to produce the requested health information records. It takes time, equipment and people to create a copy or reproduction of these documents.

The fee charged to defray the costs is regulated by California Health and Safety Code 123100. The fee is calculated as twenty-five cents ($0.25) per page, reasonable clerical costs of $24.00 per hour billed in quarter hour increments, actual shipping charges if the records are mailed and any applicable California State Sales Tax.
